Blog Posts about On-Site Optimisation
On-Site Optimisation is the cornerstone of effective SEO and incorporates a variety of techniques to ensure that visitors to your website receive the best possible user experience.
When done correctly, this form of optimisation will also help increase the relevancy of a website for targeted keywords which in turn will enhance the prospects of ranking highly in the organic search results.
Some of the major factors in on-site optimisation include the correct usage of META keywords, descriptions and the title tag. All of these are attributes with are used by search engines when producing search results.
Appropriate keyword density is another important aspect of on-site optimisation. Previously, a practice known as keyword stuffing was used by many ill advised web developers and SEO companies and involved multiple uses of key terms and key phrases designed to enhance the visibility of a page to search engines. This inevitably led to website content which was non-informative and poorly written and this practice is now penalised by Google.
The URL of individual pages contained within a website should be connected to the context of the online content for that page. It is also important to link through your website using the correct text for links, this is known as ‘Anchor Text’. We do this so that search engines and visitors have an idea about what to expect on the page they are about to visit.
Another important aspect of on-site optimisation is ensuring that all images have images, ALT tags and title tags which will enable visitors and search engines to know what the image is about.
