She also has a keen interest in graphic design, having worked as a freelancer for a number of Sussex companies including a local jeweller and piercing studio, a children’s nursery and a car garage.

Maxine enjoys most sports, particularly skiing and going to the gym. Her passion for travelling has taken her all over the world including Australia, the USA, the Caribbean, the Maldives and Mauritius, with Canada and New Zealand next on the list.

Having spent many years as a publishing editor in regional magazine journalism and digital publishing, with a brief stint writing for Google (which nearly quashed her creative spirit!), there can’t be many commercial topics that Nicole hasn’t written about.

Nicole has a background in IT business research and holds degrees from the University of Sussex and the London School of Economics. She is a language and communications specialist with a postgraduate Diploma in Translation (German) and decades of copywriting experience in the fields of Marketing, Advertising and PR.

Aside from work, Nicole has a keen interest in vegan nutrition and loves to cook. She also has a soft spot for exploring the local area – with walking (preferably to a nice pub), shopping and music venues all high on her list of favourite things in Sussex.

Charlotte has been practising marketing since 2001 where she began her career in London-based, global advertising agency Leo Burnett. Within months the managing director had recruited her into their new business function – a discipline she remained in in two further agencies, first at ad agency HHCL then at the integrated marketing agency Engine.

After a time working client-side for Terence Conran’s group of companies which spans the worlds of design, architecture, retail and restaurants, she decided to jointly run her own business; an online community for grandmothers called Grannynet. As a digital business and one aimed at older women, Grannynet’s challenges were numerous, fascinating and all became great lessons for the future.
