The purpose of this blog post is to be a very quick guide as to stuff you should do to help promote the blog post you have just carefully written and uploaded to your blog.

Submit your blog post to all your social media profiles (if you do not have profiles yet we recommend setting up all the following as a minimum)
To make the social media posting quick and easy we recommend signing up to Hootsuite, a free services, for once you’ve set this up, you then add your social media profiles to Hootsuite, then add your blogs RSS feed (www.yourwebsite.co.uk/feed), and every time you publish a post on your blog it will automatically also be posted on your social media profiles.

Social bookmarking websites, are just websites (like stumbleupon.com) where you can save, or ‘bookmark’ web pages that you like, comment on it, and others are able also to find the bookmarks you have saved. There are literally hundreds of options when it comes to other sites where you can post your blog posts.
We like the service Onlywire, which will let you post to 50 websites automatically for $5 a month, which is a great way to automate your blog post promotion.

Your blog has what is called an RSS feed and typically is located at www.yourwebsite.co.uk/feed. This URL can be submitted to scores of services so every time you publish blog posts these services will be told, and there are many more opportunities for your post to be found.

One of the key secrets of blogging success (or failure) is to blog regularly (or not as the case may be). If you blog regularly and write interesting and engaging posts, then you will get found by both the search engines, and people; and the benefits include better search engine rankings and more visitors to your website.
